Thea Lim is the author of An Ocean of Minutes, which was a finalist for multiple national and international prizes, translated into three languages, and optioned for television. Her writing has been published in Granta, The Nation, The Paris Review, Best Canadian Stories, The Guardian, The Globe and Mail, Guernica, and others. She holds an MFA from the University of Houston. She has served as creative writing faculty, lecturer, workshop leader, and mentor at the following schools and organizations: the University of Toronto, Sheridan College, the Flying Books School of Reading and Writing, Diaspora Dialogues, the Writers’ Trust of Canada, the Writers’ Union of Canada, and the University of Guelph. She was a juror for the 2022 Governor General’s Fiction Prize and the 2023 Trillium Book Award, and she has served as the Barker Fairley Distinguished Visitor at University College, as a Toronto Public Library writer-in-residence, and as a UTSC writer-in-residence. She grew up in Singapore and now lives with her family in Toronto/Tkaronto.
